On Dec. 6 Corona del Sol’s orchestra concert performed its holiday concert featuring the chamber and concert orchestra as well as the guitar ensemble. The concert included several holiday themed songs like “Silent Night”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, and the “The Christmas Song”.

My favorite performance was the guitar ensemble’s rendition of ‘Favorite Things’ by Rodgers & Hammerstein, which was very upbeat and seemed to be an audience favorite.

One of the standouts from the concert was junior James Dittermore, whose guitar skills were thoroughly impressive. Dittermore accompanied the chamber orchestra playing the guitar during the “The Christmas Song” by Mel Torme & Robert Wells.

The show also featured great lighting with lots going on onstage and a well-prepared orchestra concert.

The holiday performance was a success and enjoyable for everyone who attended.
