Five Aztec athletes sign National Letters of Intent

On Feb. 3, five Aztec student athletes signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their education and playing careers in college.

Isabelle Cartagena signed with San Diego State to play soccer. The Lady Aztecs were led by Cartagena’s strong leadership on defense to make it into the state playoffs as the No. 9 seed.

Boys soccer star John Rea signed with Notre Dame. Rea has helped the Aztecs get into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. He has been a huge offensive presence up front scoring a total of 26 goals for the Aztecs.

Austin Dixon, Logan Smith, and Logan Bashford all signed to continue their football careers at Boise State, Dakota Wesleyan (South Dakota), and Phoenix College, respectively. The Aztecs went 7-4 and went to the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
