Anyone who has attended Corona knows that with Homecoming comes spirit chains. This year, as always, HERO students will be stopping by third hour classes to sell these chains until Sept. 24. Each link costs 25 cents, or 5 links can be bought for a dollar. The homeroom that raises the most money and creates the longest spirit chain will win a Jimmy & Joe’s Pizza party. Second place will receive a cookie party, and third place will be awarded with a doughnut party.

Not only will these chains decorate the stadium for the Homecoming game, but the proceeds will go to various community service projects.

Last year, with the help of the money collected by selling the spirit chains, HERO was able to make donations to and participate in the March of Dimes, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics, Friends for Life Animal Shelter, Smiles for Christmas and more.

By donating money to get chains, students will be not only helping their class increase their chances of winning a party and raising school spirit, but they will also be supporting local service projects.
