Wrestling season is well underway, and Corona’s record for the season so far is 18-1. Helping with this success is the fact that no players are yet to be seriously injured.
There were some significant wins in the most recent meet against Mountain View that helped Corona beat them 54-5. Jason Landrum, wrestling at 135 pounds won by fault. Brad Spadafore snagged his exciting win in overtime. And, Kevin Thomas in the 145 pound weight class, worked hard to beat his opponent 4-3.
Mountain View was ranked #2 in the state, right behind Corona Del Sol. After the meet between to the two schools, coach Martinez commented, “Beating them 54-5 was a significant victory that clearly justifies #1 ranking,” coach Jim Martinez said after the meet between to the two schools.
