The boys and girls golf teams’ seasons have begun, and players and coaches are optimistic about a sucessful season.
“I believe that the girls are very coachable. All the girls are focused and ready to improve themselves and the team,” coach Pat Reed said.
“I think that losing five seniors is challenging…but, I love having the new blood on our team,” she said.
Junior Dana Finkelstein has played varsity for two years on Coronas’ girls’ golf team.
“We have a lot of new girls this year, we’re hoping for at least third in state,” Finkelstein said. “The team strategy is to just keep trying to win region.”
Reed is hoping the season turns out well also.
I expect to be Region Champs again and to be in the top three at state again,” Reed said.
The boys’ golf team is also looking toward a positive season.
“I expect us to play well,” Jennifer Ray, boys’ golf coach said. “Even though we’re a young team I expect us to still be competitive.”
The new members to the varstiy roster are excited for the chance to show their skills.
“I look forward to playing in tournaments and representing Corona,” senior Chris Carlson said.
