Prom changes location

Due to a scheduling conflict, Corona del Sol’s Prom has been moved to the Phoenix Convention Center. The date, May 1, and time, 8-11:30 p.m., remain the same.
Corona Ranch had a double booking problem as they booked an event with a radio station celebrating Cinco de Mayo the same night as Corona’s Prom. On April 26, the Tempe Union High School District decided to find a different location, as the double booking problem was not going to be resolved.
After many locations were called, administration found Prom’s new location in the North Ballroom of the Phoenix Convention Center. The Phoenix Convention Center is located at 100 N. Third St.
Being in downtown Phoenix, students may have to fight with traffic as the Suns game seven is scheduled for the same night if they lose to the Portland Trailblazers Thursday, forcing a deciding seventh game.
Below is a map detailing drop-off and student parking instructions (click to enlarge). Prom attendees should park in the Heritage Garage, located at 123 N. Fifth St. As of now, students will be required to pay for parking ($12, according to the Heritage Square web site). Check back for any updates regarding parking fees or ticket costs.
