The second annual faculty dodgeball game will be held Friday, March 5. It is going to be held in the big gym at 3:00.
Last year’s format consisted of three teacher teams and one student team, with social studies teacher Corey Nenaber’s team winning and [cdstv] teacher Ben Forbes’ team coming in second place. This year’s format includes three student teams and three faculty teams with 10 players on each team to bring the total to 60 competitors this year.
There will be three faculty teams, the Black Team, the Orange Team and the Purple Team. The Black Team includes Captain Greg Hebert, Leah Fleming, Andrew Lawrence, Angela Carter, Chico Rodriguez, Kris Urban, Katie Carver, Nick Taylor, Ben Forbes and Larry Huff. The Orange Team will include Captain Brandon Romney, Nikki McGraw, Nate (from security), Cindy Glick, Pat Reed, Don Smith, Dave Webb, Bill Holt and Ken Olson. The Purple Team will include Captain Jim Bell, Don Guess, Jaime Mueller, Fran Bader, Jennifer Smith, Brandon Waller, Corey Nenaber, Teresa Hodge and Jen Ray.
The three student teams this year are quite varied. There is a SHFT team (the Blue Team), which is comprised of students from the three journalism classes (journalism, [cdstv], and yearbook). There is also a CHIP team (the Green Team), which acknowledges the students that were nominated for the CHIP scholarship. The third team (the Red Shirts) was a tryout team that consists of students from the rest of the student body.
The SHFT roster includes Captain Taylor Stacy, Rashad Armstrong, Dani Peterson, David Strauss, Taylor Doren, Jake Briggs, Shelby Grimnes, Luke Samuels, Eric Smith and Janae Mari. The CHIP roster is comprised of Captain Mark Naufel, Heather Crothers, Pedro Chairez, Sam Kirgis, Kylie Tabor, Stephen Kurulis, John Magana, Briana Viafale, Nathan Flood and Parker King. The tryout team will be represented by Captain Kyle Homewood, Kyle Shaw, Brett Butler, Julie Vandeberg, Joey Rea, Max Tapia, Jason Cota, Xavier Edgerton, Kevin Ash and Max Leaf.
“We had about 30 students try out, 10 ended up making it,” Forbes said.
Tickets to Faculty Dodgeball will cost $5. The proceeds from this event will go towards funding [cdstv].
