On Nov. 3, the March of Dimes club held their annual fundraiser, Corona’s Got Talent, in the James C. Love auditorium.

At the event, students and teachers volunteered their time and talents to raise money for one of Corona’s most popular clubs. Among the students who performed was sophomore Irene Ashu who performed a hip-hop dance with students Ben Tsang, Christine Tang and Brandon Powell.

“I tried out because I wanted to help out March of Dimes and to dance,” Ashu said. “I have been dancing for 10 years and love to perform.”

At the end of the night, the votes were tallied and the winner of Corona’s Got Talent 2009 was announced. The award went to freshman Jennifer Chiang who not only sang Halo by Beyonce but also played the piano and the flute in the same piece.

The price of a ticket was $5 and at this event alone the club raised at least $600 toward the club’s goal for the end of the year.

“Our goal this year is $10,000,” club president and senior Nafisa Ahmad said. “It was great to see everyone involved and out to support.” come out and support such a great cause.
