NAHS (National Art Honors Society) put on an art show in the auditorium lobby. It was displayed during the play on Jan. 25, giving those walking into the show a chance to stop and admire.
Many different types of art were displayed. Including pen and ink, pencil, watercolor, oil pastels and digital photography.
One piece that stood out was “That One Face” by junior Brynn Douglas. It was a picture of a girl, made up of Douglas’s signature throughout the entire picture. From far away it looks like solid lines in pen and ink, until you get closer and recognize the intricate detail.
Similar to Douglas’ picture, was senior Bryce Contreras’ “A Day at Fenway Park.” Although, this one was made up of little dots as opposed to signatures, it was equally unique.
“My Colors of Life” was a beautiful picture using oil pastels on a black canvas. The colors and pastels created a great contrast with the black background.
Done in nothing but pencil, “Innocent Eyes” was a truly realistic picture of a little boy, by senior Reychel Estrada.
Sarah Boege displayed a captivating piece of digital photography of someone’s eye. It was titled “Myopic.”
Overall the art show was both impressing and a great display of student’s talent.
