Summer school changes
As the school year ends, summer school begins, but this year with a few big changes. The classes offered will remain the same, but instead of the usual summer school session of four weeks, Monday through Thursday, sessions have been condensed into three weeks, Monday through Friday. Session dates have changed accordingly. Track closes the 2010 season
The Aztecs had several outstanding performances at this years’ state meet. Overall, the boys’ team took fifth place with 42 points. Seniors Matt Whitlatch and Garrett Baker-Slama each made significant contributions to this total. Whitlatch took first in the two-mile, third in the mile and led the 4x8 and 4x4 teams to second-place finishes. Students mourn the loss of Cody Bishop
Students gathered together in the stadium during lunch on Tuesday, May 11 to say farewell to senior Cody Bishop. Cody passed away on May 9 after being taken off life support following a car accident May 6. Cody was heading eastbound on Ray Road turning left into the Fry’s shopping center when a driver headed westbound on Ray, traveling 80-90 mph struck him. According to police, Steven Landrum, the driver of the other vehicle, was intoxicated during the time of the accident.
